We decided this year we would visit each of our children on Christmas Eve. We had a really fun time seeing everyone. Steven read each of the Grandkids a Christmas story. We picked Emily up that night at the airport and just Emily, Crystal, Steve and I went to Temple Square.

He was born while we we busy partying with the rest of the family.

We had a pretty quiet and calm thanksgiving weekend.

Isaac's family came for dinnner.

Crystal was in Utah with the Boyack family so we stole her for the day.

Joyce and Jim joined us for lunch.

Friday we spent the afternoon with Leisa and her family.

and we did a session at the Logan temple.

We did have a nice weekend.

It was so much fun

Bountiful Temple Day

Yesterday we went to the Bountiful Temple.

First we did a session with our Stake.

and then we tended Avery and Cole while

Leisa and Andrew witnessed the marriage of

The Awesome Ann Marie Wallace.

While we were tending the kids we ran into

Sarah Worlton - she was a friend of Emily's at

Utah State University their Freshman year.

She would have Sunday dinners with us.

Leisa's kids looked so cute. Everybody just oood and awed.

They are Crystals best friends this summer.

I went and visited Crystal.

She was so kind and gracious.

She gave up playing with her friends to hang out with her mother.

I forgot to take the camera,

before she took me to the airport.

She played her Viola in Church Sunday.

I got to watch her practice.

She thinks Cameron is the Cutest thing in Albuquerque

We got Crystal a car - she needs to have one now -

She hosted a picnic and invited her friends and their families.

It was really fun to meet them all. She has some super friends.
We drove to Sandia Crest at night and looked at the moon and stars and the big valley below.

We visited Carrie and Susan Pryzekurat.

Congratulations - Graduation

Congratulations to all the family members who completed another year of college.

And to Westin for starting back into school.

Emily finished Law School and is off to Washington DC for her next adventure.

Isaac finished Law School and is studying hard now to take the bar exam in July

Good Luck to him.

Jenny and the kids have been wonderful and supportive of Isaac. He couldn't have done it without them.

Moscow (that is Idaho) Vacation

We went to see Isaac and his family.

Jaqueline and Alexandra were in a real Ballet.

How fun that we got to see them dance.

We went to my brothers - Gale's over in central Washington. We toured his Dairy and saw milk come from the cow and go right to the factory for bottling to sell.

The kids had fun riding Sootie

We stayed over night at Moses Lake.

We played at a park in Moscow.

The kids had a riot feeding the ducks.

Water Water Trauma Drama

It is never good when water bubbles up out of your asphalt

Long story short the water main broke from the well to the house.

It was fun to watch them fix it.

It is nice to know people with big equipment.

Our kids gave us a couple of pairs of Jazz tickets for Christmas

To actually go to a game is so different than watching on TV

There is so much more going on than the game.

It was a fun date. - thanks Kids

It is ironic that the jumbo tron has Williams on it.
It was about the next game that they traded D-Will.

Andrew and Leisa gave us their left over tiles.

Andrew came and tiled the downstairs entry way.

It turned out to be a huge job.

Avery has been so sick.

She was in the hospital with RSV, pneumonia, and ear infections.

We are so glad she is doing better.

Wanted: A Professional Painter

I just about have finished painting the upstairs inside front of the house.

I learned a couple of lessons.

1. Hire a pro to do it next time. (It about killed me off) considering I am working part time and had to fit painting in after work.

2. Be thankful for a Son in Law who so generously used his talents to repair the cracked ceilings and door ways. (Thanks Wally for giving up you weekend to fix and patch for me)

3. Always have your sisters help you hang the pictures. Because with all the differing opinions, tape measures and levels someone will be right.

4. Always buy the paint samples. If I would have painted what I originally had planned it would have been really ugly. It payed off the experiment with the actual cup full of paint (available at Home Depot).

I wish I had before and after pictures. But for those who are familiar with the house you will see the difference.

See if you can pick them out.

Some of the differences are.

1. Paint Color

2. New side light in the front door (no more Gold plexiglass)

3. No draperies.

4. Cupboards moved and painted in the Laundry Room.

Heidi hosted a party at her house. I forgot to take pictures. But here is a picture of the grandkids with Great Grandma Colleen and Grandpa Hardman.

Where did August GO

August has come and gone in a blink of an eye

It started with Crystal Burning her hand in a grease fire.

Thanks to all of the prayers in her behalf she has had a miraculous healing.

I know the pictures look bad but trust me it could look worse.

We will be painting the kitchen as soon as we find time.

The doctors in Albuquerque considers this healed.

She totally has new skin on her entire hand.

She will have a custom compression glove that she will wear for about 1 year.

We moved Crystal to Albuquerque and in all the excitement

We didn't take one picture.

She is so excited for the new experience.

We wish her luck.

"We're gonna miss you"

After we dropped Crystal off we went on a little vacation.

We came across Arizona and ended up in St George.

We went to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.

We went through Holbrook Arizona and thought we were right in the Cars movie.

We didn't know that the Wigwam motel wasn't original to Cars

We went to the Petrified Forest. I was amazed at the petrified trees there.

Route 66

In Albuquerque we rode the worlds longest Tram to Sandia Peak

We went to The Tuachan Theatre with some of my family

We saw Tarzan. It was wonderful.

Thanks John for your hospitality.

Chelsea and I made pickle relish and Serena was trying to

catch the drips from the grinder.

Westin and Clark made bouquets for their girl friends

Welcome home Emily.

She came home while we were on Vacation.

Earlier in the month Xander and Cole both came to stay and play

They are so cute together.

Serena loved the Ice Cream on the car ride to the Hardman Reunion.

Sorry we forgot to take pictures of the fun day too.

I hope September is filled with just as much fun

but not all the excitement.

90 years old WOW

My Dad Turned 90 on August 2nd
To honor him we had our family reunion combined
with a public open house.
So many family and friends sacrificed to share that day with us

We estimate that there were around 300 people that came.

While Isaac and Jenny were in town we decided to have a mini party

celebrating all the July Birthdays.

Actually the birthdays start the

27th of June with Jennylyn

1st of July - Chelsea,

3rd - Heidi,

15th - Serena,

20th - Steven, Westin, and Nicholas,

August 9th is Alexandra.

Almost half the family in just 43 days.

We cooked foil dinners in the back of the yard.

Red Rover Red Rover send Jennylyn right over.

Serena and Nicholas just loved each other.

Serena already knows how to tease boys

Alex helped us choose the birthday cupcakes.

We tried to get a cute picture of Leisa and her family

We are so sorry. Quicksilver I am sure felt really bad too.

My Dad - Grandpa Noyes - loves his cat Golde

He wanted us to take a picture of him playing with him.

But the inevitable happened and he fell going down the terrace stairs

and split his head open. He got five staples in his head.

That only added to the discouragement

that he still has Salmonella and is pretty skinny and frail.

For fathers day (Saturday) Heidi and Leisa and kids came and we played water games.

We really were good sports. The cookout was great.

The creeping Thyme has been beautiful this year.

And the hummingbirds have been such an amusement this summer.

Alan Kay is a nephew of Stevens Great Grandmother Rhoda Kay Sorensen.

Kris Groll is the next generation then Steven is the next and Heidi is the next. We should have had Xander in the picture too for one more generation.

What a treat to have him come from England to meet his cousins.

He remembers his father always talking lovingly of his Sister Rhoda who joined the Mormons and came to Utah.

Down South

My college roomate Valerie Salt has been inviting us down to her cabin "Down South" at Fremont Utah for several years. This weekend Steven and I took her up on it. Valerie was a wonderful hostess and we really had a grand adventure. We were so busy having fun that we forgot to take pictures of where we were or what we did. But this is what we have.

Her property borders the BLM lands. We went on four wheelers up above her cabin. It was like snowmobiling on four wheelers.

Valerie and Jeff spend a lot of time just hiking the mountains .

So we went hiking too. Its a good thing that I have been walking this winter or I probably would have just dropped dead with all the hiking we did.

This is a dandy cave we saw. Valerie already knew about it.

This petroglyph was on the roof of it. We hope no one finds it and ruins it.

We really had so much fun. Thanks Valerie for letting us come.

I got some new puzzles to do.

One is a super Why puzzle.

It came with a magnifying glass.

Crystal finally has some time to craft. She finished her finals Tuesday

We put up two little trees downstairs for Christmas instead of one bigger one

For my moms birthday - she has been gone for 7 years now -MY Dad invited everyone here to have a prime rib dinner. Dad had it catered. Most of my siblings and their spouses were able to come. I went with Steve on his Southern Utah run on the 8-12 of September

We went to the Tuachan theatre and saw ANNIE

it was wonderful. (The little girl dog is the photographers daughter).

We drove thru Cedar Breaks. It was breath taking
and then went up Kolob Canyon

It was fun to go away with Steve for a few days.

Steven and I went for a ride up Mirror Lake Hwy on Saturday.

It was beautiful.

We walked all the way around Mirror Lake.

If you haven't been before there is a nice smooth improved path around.

Heidi went to girls camp and Jared had an interview so we went

and he slept over night with them.

We made a tent out of the quilt frames. Just like my children use to do.

They were all sad when they had to go home.

Serena was delivered by C-Section at

8:01 am July 15, 2009

She weighed 5 lbs 5 oz and is 18 1/2 inches long

all appears to be just perfect with her.

Cousin Myrtle Smith Visit

A few months ago I found out that my dad had a 97 year old cousin, Myrtle Smith still alive in Nyssa Oregon. She is the daughter of my great aunt Ada Louisa Noyes Ostberg.

So John, Jane and I took a road trip Thursday (up and back in one day) and visited her. These are some of the treasures that we got from her.

My grandfather John Hyrum (Henry) Noyes is the tall man on the center back.

His parents are Hannah Mariah Williams Noyes and Frederick Franklin Noyes.

Ada, Diantha and Gustavus are not in this picture. But all the younger siblings are.

Now that we know who the photographer was we may be able to find the original plates.

These where taken by an Emil Rosenvall from Gunnison Utah right around 1900.

This is Myrtle and her son Bill, daughter Sharon and my sister Jane and brother John.

Talking to her was just like talking to any of my dad's sisters. She definantly was a NOYES.

Mothers Day

Weiner Roasts and Swinging good times

Springtime and Easter

Springtime may be here to stay this time.
3 Weeks ago the weather was so warm so
we raked our lawn and planted pansies on the back terraces
It was so refreshing.

And then it happened 3 weeks of bad weather.
In Milton here we got 18 inches of more snow.

It has barely melted again.

My friend Valerie bought a new house and she didn't like
the swing set so she gave it to us.

We are in process of making a playyard in the pasture.

Saturday Evening we had a spur of the moment Easter Eve cookout
We grilled some burgers and sat around and talked.
Thanks kids for coming on a last minute notice.

Crocus are always the first sign of spring here.

Just like flowers come alive each spring

Because of Jesus' resurrection we can live again too.

We have spent the last couple of weeks redecorating Grandpa's upstairs bathroom.

Yesterday Monday January 26, 2009 was my brother in laws Funeral.
He had been married to my sister Verla for 5 short years.

He had been a fire fighter
and a Marine. The ceremony at the cemetery was really special.

He had also been a Silver Beaver. He loved scouting and being prepared.

My siblings have not all been together since my mother passed away in 2002.

since then my sister Barbara passed away but we were not all able to be there.

Four days till Christmas

Four Days till Christmas and we are ready.

We really went all out and hung outdoor lights this year.

My Dad loves making sure we have the lights and the

tree lights on as soon as it is dark.

Nina always decorates Dad's tree.

She does an incredible job of

putting all the strings of lights on perfectly

and all the ornaments uniform.

Isaac, Jennylyn, Jaqueline, Alexandra were so happy

to arrive after the long long drive from Moscow Idaho.

They made it safe between the storms late Saturday night.

We were so happy to see them all too.

We are anxious to have all our kids here on

Christmas Eve. It has been a long time since all

of us were together. We Pray the storms and our health will hold

up so we can all be together. Hopefully Jennylyn and Chelsea won't

have to spend the whole time with morning sickness

and fighting over the bathrooms.

For my birthday I went to Elko on business with Steven.

I got to crosstitch most of the one day.

And I spent one day at the Family History Library.

I was lucky and found the will of Uncle Orrin Andrew

that I have been looking a year for.

My good friend Margaret Taylor sent me these

beautiful flowers for my birthday. Thanks Margaret.

Thanksgiving Thankfulness's

Thanksgiving was fun

Thanks for all who came - I am thankful for family

We had delicious food and Great company - I am thankful my family are my friends

Xander and Heidi came to play - I am thankful for grandkids that are so fun and innocent

My nephew Jed got his mission call He is going to Toronto, Canada the 4th of Feb

My uncle Hal and my brother Lloyd both served in that mission - I am thankful for the church and missionary work.

These apples looked so bad but a friend gave them to Grandpa Noyes so I had to do something with them. They made the most wonderful bottled apples and apple pie filling

- I am thankful for the plentiful harvest we had this year. It is such a blessing to have your freezer and shelves full.

Thanks for the part you each play in our lives.

October is Here

Grandpa came home from the hospital on September 30

He seems to be getting along Okay.

We still have the pacemaker implant to look forward to

in a couple of weeks.

He probably will be laid up most of the winter.

Sunday the local kids came home and had dinner and

listened to General Conference.

This first picture is of Xander. I couldn't see him on his birthday

So I gave him his birthday Spiral Speedway on Sunday.

He sure acted like he liked it.

The rest of the pictures are just what someone took with my Camera that day

Grandpa Noyes's setback

Sorry to say that we had to take Grandpa back to the hospital

He will be there at least a week this time.

Grandpa Noyes' exciting week

Well to make a long story short.

After a horrible, horrible bleeding ulcer episode.

We didn't even know that he had ulcers but now we do.

Three units of blood and three days in the hospital.

He went from being whiter than a ghost to yellow and then pink.

Grandpa is home and hopefully on the improve.

Thanks for all your prayers in his behave.

EDIT: I just noticed it says behave, not behalf, however, behave is probably more appropriate.

Labor Day Weekend 2008

The Weekend started with Leisa asking us to babysit.

Of course it wasn't Cole they wanted to leave -

it was Cordi.

Now Crystal wants a dog of her own.

She loved it.

Crystal did all the tending because we went on to our next adventure.

Things worked out for us to borrow John Henry's truck and trailer

so we helped Isaac and family move to Moscow Idaho.

Isaac is attending Law School there.

1500 miles of driving there and back.

We saw beautiful Mountains

Rolling Wheat Fields

and Snow.

We started Saturday morning with packing them up in Hyrum.

I tried to entertain the girls while they did all the packing.

We arrived in Moscow Sunday Afternoon.

Isaac found them a trailer house to live in

It is in a nice park close to school.

We wish them all the best of luck.

We sure are going to miss them.

But we love blogs and emails and phone calls.

Whenever our kids move away from us we

get that same feeling we had when we sent them on missions

or off to college or they got married.

was married in the Logan Temple
on August 6th.
She just loved Chelsea's wedding dress.
Chelsea was generous and loaned it to her.

The Barbie House

Crystal repainted the Barbie House

and we decided that to straighten out the crooked window cutouts

we would put molding around them inside and out.

It took forever but we did it.

Now we are going to get new dolls and furniture for it too.

Everyone has always liked playing with this doll house.

2008 Noyes Reunion - Aug 2nd

The Noyes reunion was held at Grandpa Noyes's House.

We had 97 people for lunch.

It was actually Grandpa Noyes 88th birthday.
Joyce did a really great job arranging everything.

We had a really good time at Cokeville for the 4th of July Weekend.

Thanks Sharon and Phil for coming.

We really appreciated Phils cooking and tools and toys.

We enjoyed all the food and conversation.

Steve was a good sport and helped Phil cook.
Westin is always game to play with the kids.

My Neice Christy Jenkins came this year (It is her parents house).

Her kids are just the nicest kids.

We went up in the National Forest and saw all the amazing Wild flowers.

This wheel has always been a favorite of kids.
I am amazed that we didn't kill the kittens. They were played with so much.
We tried roasting biscuits on a dowel. Try it sometime.
Ann Marie (Andrew Wallace's sister) was the beauty queen of the camp.

She even shaved her legs.

Nina always gives my Dad bedding plants for the summer.

She grows them in her little greenhouse.

We planted the first of June and then the frost got them and really set them back.

June 21st we went to Ely Nevada to My Nephew Joe's wedding.

We had to take a 80 mile detour through Welles because of a drag race.

It was a good thing that we didn't know about the time change.

Hogle Zoo Spring Break April 17th 2008

Morgan School District had their Spring Break this week.
Crystal and I wanted to go to the Zoo.
We decided we would invite the Grandkids for even more fun.

Wedding Anniversary - Wendover 2008

For our Anniversay I rode with Steven to do his Elko Nevada route. It was fun to spend 2 days together. We actually stayed in Elko and drove through Wells the day they had another earthquake. We had a buffet dinner at the Rainforest at the rainbow casino in wendover. I had more pictures but I cant find them so this is it.

I can't believe that we have been married for 31 years. Thanks Steve for sticking it out with me.

March Madness

March 6, 7, and 8 Jaqueline came and stayed

for a sleep over.

We had a lot of fun making cookies and playing

Xander and Heidi came and played on Sunday

while Jared was in China

Xander had a pillow fight with Grandpa

Jaqueline went with Chelsea to Disney on Ice

on the 15 of March and we tended Alexandra

while Jennylyn and Isaac had a date

Steven and I (Marilyn) went to the Jazz game.

We had seats just 7 rows up behind the Seattle Team.

We both had been to one before but we had never gone to

one together. It sure looks different when you are down close

then when you are in the nosebleed seats or watching it on TV

We were tending Xander all day

he loved running around the room and playing.

For those family members who knew how bad the Blue

bedroom was. It doesn't even look like the same room.

We took out the closet and put it in the the storage room.

so we could put the bed at the end.

It made a big difference.
